Morning Meditation Practice: Heart Jewel

Je Tsongkhapa 2 with offerings and background

During Morning Meditation we chant the Heart Jewel prayers. It is typically held Monday through Thursday at 7.30am (duration: 1 hour). However, please check our calendar as on some days other prayers may be taking place instead.

The Heart Jewel practice is the heart essence of Kadampa Buddhism. In the first part we visualize our Spiritual Guide as Je Tsongkhapa and make prayers and requests to purify negativity, accumulate merit and receive blessings. This prepares our mind for a twenty-minute meditation session on Lamrim or Stages of the Path to Enlightenment.  The meditation session is not guided – there will be 20 minutes of silence for each individual to engage in their personal mediation practice.

Dorje Shugdan

After the meditation we make prayers to our Dharma Protector, Dorje Shugden. Through this we can overcome obstacles to our practice and create favorable conditions so that we can nurture and increase our Dharma realizations.

Everyone is welcome to attend.
